Where to stay in Ubatuba?

To begin with, Praia Grande is beautiful. Its 1,800 meters of wide, light-colored sand are perfect for running and walking. It's clean, with no pollution whatsoever. It's dotted with kiosks, some offering very different kinds of food. It's excellent for surfing (one of Ubatuba's surf schools is located here, on the left side!) and even has a viewpoint (on the right side, from where you can also see Praia das Toninhas). Recently, nighttime lighting was also installed along its entire stretch of sand.

But you might be wondering... How is Ubatuba's busiest beach so clean? It turns out the neighborhood has its own sewage treatment plant, maintained by a cooperative ( Coambiental ) since the late 1980s. At Praia Grande, the Cetesb flag is always green .

We also can't forget the permanent lifeguard station run by the firefighters, right in the middle of the beach. There, and in several lifeguard chairs along the beach, our heroes keep watch year-round and work to prevent drownings, protecting lives.

All these advantages make it the most sought-after in Ubatuba - which is yet another reason to be there.

Ubatuba is already one of the most sought-after tourist destinations during the summer and holidays, and car traffic is quite intense – which can cause traffic jams on the BR-101, the highway that connects Rio de Janeiro to Santos and crosses Ubatuba. These traffic jams, at certain times, hinder the connection between the northern and southern regions of Ubatuba, which are located right there at Praia Grande. Therefore, with the traffic, there's nothing better than already being at Praia Grande, especially if you can leave your car at your accommodation and walk to the beach.

And once you're already in Praia Grande, it's quite easy to cut through the neighborhood and access both the Itaguá neighborhood and the city center, the North side or the South side of the municipality.
