Birdwatching
Birdwatching has been attracting more and more fans, including from abroad. And Ubatuba has been receiving many tourists in search of this relaxing activity! People come with the simple intention of seeing the birds up close, taking photos, witnessing their behavior and listening to their songs...
There are Tanagers, Saíras, Hummingbirds, Tanagers and even Jacús! Here in Coquille, the presence of birds is constant. We can hear them all around us all the time. And then we understand how wonderful and beautiful it is to be in contact with all this nature of the Atlantic Forest of Ubatuba!
Hotel Fun Facts: You will see several photos of birds taken right here at the hotel, at our reception and at breakfast. Each of our apartments has, in addition to the number, a representation of a bird. Apartment 101 is the Anambezinho. Apartment 203 is the Blue-faced Tanager. Cool, right?
Learning a Little
There are approximately 1,870 birds identified in Brazil. Of these, 524 species have been identified in the Ubatuba region. This is because Ubatuba has different habitats (which are geographically different locations that are home to different species). Here you will find species from hillsides, mountains and coastal plains - the preserved Atlantic Forest (which covers 86% of the municipality's area) is largely responsible for such variety – preservation that exists thanks to the creation of the Serra do Mar State Park in 1977.
At the Hotel Coquille you will have the opportunity to observe some of the many species. Do you want to start birdwatching ? Birds are our eternal guests and will be a constant during your stay with us. You can also hire a guide to accompany you on a tour of other parts of the city where you can observe birds. Ask at our reception desk.
